So we give the children lots of time for free play, we try to avoid filling their time with adult-guided activities. We will guide or suggest activities, but the more freedom the child has in an activity, the greater the learning potential.
Who We Are
Dilwyn Playgroup is a friendly, play-oriented pre-school where children are encouraged to learn and develop into confident, independent individuals.
We have our own purpose built area at the rear of the Cedar hall with a freeflow area to the outside. Dilwyn Playgroup was first established in 1973 run by parents and has developed into an Ofsted registered* and inspected pre-school setting for 2 to 4 year olds.
How we teach
The Early Years Foundation Stage is the period of education for all children from birth to the end of the reception year (their first year at school). This important stage provides children with secure foundations for continued learning.
There is a national framework for this stage which is used by all OFSTED registered pre-schools, nurseries, playgroups and childminders to support children’s learning during this time.
About us
Dilwyn Playgroup was first established in 1973 run by parents and has developed into
an Ofsted registered* and inspected pre-school setting for 2 to 4 year olds.
We believe at all children lean through play, Play is far more than just fun and games—it’s a powerful tool for learning and development in early childhood. Through play, children explore the world, develop critical skills, and build the foundation for lifelong learning.
What We Offer
Children can start at Playgroup when they turn 2 years old (and also if they are still in nappies/pull-ups). Parents are welcome to stay to settle in their children with a free trial session available.
We offer full day sessions Monday to Friday with the options of 9am to noon, 9am to 1pm or 9am to 3pm. We are open during term-time only.
